Terms & Conditions – GRIT Events

Article 1. Definitions

1.

Organizer: GRIT Events, registered as RiStro B.V. with the Chamber of Commerce under number 86700774, based in Utrecht.

2.

Participant: any natural person who has registered for participation in a GRIT event.

3.

Event: any GRIT Events organized sports, wellness, or community event, regardless of location or duration.

4.

Ticket buyer: the person who purchases a ticket, regardless of whether they participate themselves.

5.

Force majeure: circumstances beyond the organizer’s control that hinder the execution of the event (such as extreme weather conditions, pandemics, government measures, strikes, fire, etc.).

Article 2. Participation & Registration

1.

Participation is only possible after proper registration and full payment.

2.

Registration is personal and non-transferable, unless explicitly approved in writing by GRIT Events.

3.

Participation in the event is at the participant’s own risk.

4.

The organizer may refuse participation in case of misconduct, inappropriate behavior, or safety risks.

Article 3. Health & Safety

1.

The participant confirms being in good health. In case of doubt, medical advice should be sought.

2.

Wearing assigned start numbers or identification materials provided by GRIT Events is mandatory.

3.

Instructions from staff, first aid, security, and volunteers must always be followed.

4.

The organizer reserves the right to adjust the program or remove participants in case of unsafe behavior.

Article 4. Liability

1.

Participation in the event is entirely at the participant’s own risk. Participants are responsible for any damage caused to themselves or others, including within the natural environment or event area.

2.

GRIT Events is not liable for damage to property, injury, or death, except in cases of intent or gross negligence.

3.

Participants indemnify GRIT Events against claims from third parties resulting from their actions.

4.

The organizer accepts no liability for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings.

Article 5. Cancellation & Refunds

1.

Tickets cannot be refunded or exchanged, unless the organizer cancels the event entirely.

2.

If the event is rescheduled, tickets remain valid for the new date.

3.

In case of cancellation due to force majeure (such as extreme weather, pandemics, or government decisions), no refunds are guaranteed. GRIT Events will aim to offer a suitable alternative date or solution.

4.

Participants may not transfer their registration without prior written consent from GRIT Events.

Article 6. Program Changes

1.

GRIT Events reserves the right to modify routes, times, program elements, or locations if necessary for safety, permits, or other circumstances.

2.

Changes do not entitle participants to a (partial) refund of the registration fee.

Article 7. Image & Media Use

1.

Photos, videos, and audio recordings may be made during the event.

2.

Participants grant GRIT Events permission to use this material free of charge for promotional and communication purposes, worldwide and without time limitation.

3.

If a participant does not wish to be photographed or filmed, this must be indicated explicitly in writing in advance.

Article 8. House Rules & Conduct

1.

Respect for nature, location, and fellow participants is essential at GRIT Events.

2.

Waste must be disposed of in designated bins; violations may result in removal from the event.

3.

Alcohol and drug use during sporting activities is prohibited.

4.

GRIT Events reserves the right to deny access or remove individuals in case of disruptive or unsafe behavior.

Article 9. Force Majeure & Organizer Responsibility

1.

In cases of force majeure, GRIT Events has the right to modify, postpone, or cancel the event without obligation to provide compensation.

2.

Force majeure includes, but is not limited to: extreme weather, terrorism, pandemics, strikes, technical failures, government measures, or illness of key personnel.

Artikel 10. Privacy

1.

Personal data is processed in accordance with the GDPR and the GRIT Events privacy policy.

2.

Data is used solely for event execution and related communication.

Article 11. Applicable Law

1.

These terms and conditions are governed exclusively by Dutch law.

2.

Any disputes shall be submitted exclusively to the competent court in Utrecht.

Article 12. Final Provision

By purchasing a ticket or participating in the event, the participant confirms having read and agreed to these terms and conditions.
